As quite a few of you know, we were away this week and were unfortunately caught up in the terrible storm which hit Pukkelpop festival.
We are obviously extremely disappointed to be home so ahead of schedule and had a bit of a nightmare getting here but I don’t think either of us has ever been more relieved to be back in good ol’ Glasgow!!
The community spirit in Hasselt was amazing, businesses opened up their offices as shelters for the thousands of campers, with local people bringing in blankets, food and drink, however we were actually lucky enough to be offered a place to stay the night from an amazing man by the name of Frank (who we are trying to track down now to send him a thankyou!). The lovely people at Eurostar even let us travel home 2 1/2 days early, no questions asked (the same can’t be said for rubbish old Scotrail!!
Neither of us can get over what happened – the beautiful sunny skies turned pitch black and as well as severe rain and winds there were hailstones the size of ping-pong balls! It was the scariest thing and only lasted about 10 minutes but the devastation was unbelievable and looking at news stories and videos since we got home has really made us realise how lucky we are.
We managed to escape unharmed, only lost our tents etc, the same can’t be said for others and our thoughts really go out to all of those affected through the death of loved ones, injury or damage to their homes.
Yes, us robots are taking a couple weeks off to go off galavanting! This week we’re heading to Belgium for the wonderful Pukkelpop festival (it’s an annual tradition for us gals!) Then when we get home next week one of us is headed to sunny Spain, the other to Leeds festival!!
We’ll be back into the market spirt at the start of September though, we’ll be at Gin In Teacups on the 3rd and Granny Would Be Proud on the 18th.
Take it easy robot pals, we’ll see you all in a couple of weeks!
